The end of January already and we’re wondering how well those fresh faced New Year resolutions are tracking?
That sense of newness which the 1st of January brings, rarely fades and for most of us, we do think about what we can do better or take up at this time of year.
Here at Forewinds, making more time for golf was certainly on our list. Having something to look forward to, especially on those days when everything is going pear shaped, provides a much-needed boost of motivation.
Most of us already know what we love to do. We know what excites us, even if we haven’t done it for years, but all too often, we focus on what we think we ‘must’ do. However, all the experts tell us that making time to do what we enjoy is hugely beneficial to our mental health and wellbeing and in our current challenging environment, this needs to be top of the ‘to do list’.
While we may be tempted to say we don’t have time, or we will do it later, it’s important to plan to do things that we enjoy. What’s that catch phrase, ‘Fail to plan means planning to fail.’ Even if it’s something small, and simple. No matter what it is, the important thing is that it will provide a much-needed break from our usual routine and give us something to look forward to.
And that’s why we love golf. We’re outside, we’re moving and we’re enjoying the company of like minded people. So the Year of the Tiger will see us out on the fairway a lot more and we hope you make more time to do the things that you love to do too.
Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Golfing!
